First off, HUGE, HUGE Thanks to Chasezero.
Got done working on my superduty, at approx 8 pm. a friend of mine, wanted to do some wheeling with his lady friend, I called a lady friend, and we went out for a mild run. Bit of trails, some weak hills, mostly manageable with a soccer mom mobile.
The mild run, turned into a Bronco II, doing what B2's do best.
Rolling over.
On a trail I'd done DOZENS of times, i somehow managed to either, roll the truck and pop the bead on the passenger front, or; more likely, (with the air pressures I was running, due to the stiff sidewall) pop the bead and roll the truck.
We righted ourselves with the self recovery gear, and were about to change the tire, when, to my dismay, I discovered I had secured the spare with a 13/16 wheel nut, while only carrying a 3/4 wrench, for the wheels... I'd failed, to do the most simple tasks, include the "wheeling Kit" i ALWAYS bring. It comprises of everything I need to fix the Bronc-Obama in any situation...(Now including outer front shafts). We were hooped. After checking all fluids, I limped ole Bronco to a location where there was Cell service, a long, slow, slow, slow journey with a blown tire...and attempted to raise a rescue..by the time phones would work, it was well after 11pm...ChaseZero came, after getting out of bed, with EVERYTHING needed, to right the truck, much less do a simple tire change, and got us home.
Damage - Tire popped off the bead, no big deal, Tire Pro mounted it Backwards to begin with, I can get it flipped around now.... Body panels are MESSED. The passenger door opens, but not enough to fit a person through. No one was injured, by some act of voodoo no glass broke, any fluids spilled (mostly wiper fluid) were cleaned up, and a lesson Learned....Bring ALL your gear, ALL the time, no matter how MILD the trail may be.....
And I now owe Chase an ANYTIME phone call....
