Anyone here wheeled an iltis?
I was wondering because i found a 1986 Iltis for $1000 with 800.00 Kms on it.

They have front and rear lockers and pizza cutter military tires.

Are they good or bad?  I know they are ugly lol.

This would be better Rob but its way to deep for my pockets. An iltis would be cool but i dont know how they are for getting parts or anything.

Don't buy an Iltis. You thought wheeling a jeep was expensive, buy something that you can't get parts for.
Matt's 4487 car would be pretty sweet.

I don't know anything about the parts thing but they go like stink if I remember correct. I think if the tub is all sealed up they float too. they were better then the MLVW anyway.
Time for an overland expedition!!

RE: Anyone here wheeled an iltis?
There's was an old couple that my dad was friends with and they use one to hunt with, we went with them once in the 90's and used there second unit . Soft top, heater worked good. We flat towed them to the bush. It was a long time ago, but they seemed to work pretty good, the one we were in didn't seem to have lockers but the small winch worked. If you want to be different, and you'll defiantly become an Itis aficionado if you buy one as they're getting pretty long in the tooth as they say Big Grin

my friend has one, sounds pretty dependable and good on gas. I have never been in it but it sounds like it goes places and has a smooth ride
